Singing and playing fifteen or so songs with two bands that I've never played with before in my life, for a thousand people who speak a language I don't know, and playing versions of songs I've never heard (Tennessee Waltz in 4/4 time) -- and it was even better than it sounds! The show was a blast, the people went nuts, The Shakin' Arrows and The Blue Moon Rockers are great bands, and there will be more details later whenever I make it back to the country. |

| Comments: | You know the last time I saw Kringle he was riding down the street playing music in the back of a hay truck. I was driving down 62 East just past the Berryville square and this hay truck sped past me, going at least 60, and there was Kringle standing up in the back playing his banjo uke and a few other people were playing instruments too but they were all midgets, and this one midget was singing at the top of his lungs with his arms up in the air, and Kringle was staring down at his uke and playing insanely fast. I haven't seen him since. |

Brothers played at Center Street. Maybe you remember them opening
for us in Omaha a couple years ago. Well they were great then but
damn are they hot now! I had to call C.J. and Steve on the way home,
I was so excited. Gerardo's been writing excellent songs and the guitar
player Mark really rips rockabilly stuff apart. Gerardo gave me a
CD so I'd like to get some of the tunes on this page so y'all can
check it out.
Moral of the story: go see the Mezcal Brothers! |
